The Lightshapes shown here are made from a gas-fired porcelain body from Valentin Clay. With a lightsource inside they glow with warmth and a varied yellowish translucency to which photographs cannot do justice.
In the pictures shown here, Lightshapes are suspended from electrical wires, but Lightshapes can also be turned around and mounted on a stand or mounted to a ceramic holder and
attached to a wall. Lightshapes can also move towards more sculptural expressions.

The Lightshapes explore a middle ground between sculpture and the lamp as a practical and necessary structure. This middle ground hopefully allows each Lightshape it's own personality. Therefore each of them carry a name:
